Larung Gar Institute, Tibet
Tsinta Mani Choling (TMC) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2009 at the direction of Lama Lakshey Zangpo and several founding members who were instrumental in establishing TMC as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. TMC as an organization is devoted to the study of peace and non-violence, mindfulness training, insight meditation, compassion training, and philosophical discourse within the framework of traditional Vajrayana Buddhist practice. Our events are open to all, from those just curious, to those seeking to discover the true nature of their hearts and minds.
The name Tsinta Mani Choling, The Wish Fulfilling Jewel, was given by H.E. Tulku Tenzin Gyatso, who is the head of the greatly esteemed Larung Gar Institute. The chosen name corresponds directly with the sacred name of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok, Yeshe Norbu. This connection between two great realized beings is highly auspicious for Tsinta Mani Choling and it's future dharma activities.
Tsinta Mani Choling is the vehicle for creating a space, both physical and remote, for individuals to engage in the development of meditation and instruction in the Tibetan Buddhist Vajrayana tradition. It serves as the spiritual home and the natural expression of Vajrayana practice, a place with free access to teachings that brings benefit to those who wish to receive pure authentic instruction. Lama Lakshey is the spiritual director of TMC.
As the spiritual director, Lama Lakshey’s vision for TMC is that each of the physical locations become sites for authorized teachers to turn the wheel of the sacred dharma, specifically Buddhist teachers educated at Larung Gar Institute. With the goal that these Lamas and Kenpos offer ongoing instruction in order to benefit this and future generations of dharma practitioners.
